The Downward Dog

After six months of giving my new house more makeovers than Joan Rivers has had facelifts, and fixating about all the maintenance issues, I  had to STOP and get some perspective.

So what did my daughter suggest? Yoga....Buddhist meditation....and...... would I mind looking after her dog for a while.

Lovely as that girl is .......I somehow forgot to clarify how long 'a while' is.

Meet Stella.

A very busy little Golden Retriever who is doing a sterling job retrieving plants out of my pots. Which is really a bit of a shame given there are many weeds everywhere that could benefit from her skills.

However, I have managed to get my own back. Can you guess at what point in this photo chronology she came to stay with me?

Dress ups are so fun, no? Maybe this will hurry her owner up to come and collect her dog for fear of what "Nanna" is doing to her baby fairydog. She is cute though I will give her that. Plus my plants don't make me laugh out loud like she does.

I hope, unlike my greenery, you are all well and thriving.

  9. A lot of hard work puppies are and they are into everything. Lock up your valuables!

  10. If you could train a dog to weed a garden, you would be very popular. Probably sell a book on it, if it worked.
Good to see a post from you. If I posted once a month (if your counting it has been more than that - but hell I'll believe Oz has a different calendar) I don't think I would have any comments. Oh I don't think it is a shortage of ideas but if you are short on them here's one - recently I listened to a clip of an Aussie senator lady who made quite a stir with her honest ideas of what she looks for in a man. Could you post an Aussie view point on your out spoken senator. I don't recall her name.

    1. Well I might try that while I have her here Bill, help pay her board. That Senator? I have one word. Cringeworthy. I am ashamed to have her representing our country. It is scary that she is a politician but then again perhaps she is a representative of a lot of people. Who knows? Perhaps she did it to get publicity as she is only new in the job. Clearly she has a lot to learn about doing radio interviews. To think it made your news is embarrassing. And yes, I know, I have been a very bad blogger - once a quarter maybe. It is just the way it is unfortunately but I do miss everyone.

    2. thanks for sharing your opinion. I'm not sure how many are in agreement with me but this sexual brouhaha (do we still that word?) coming from another country reassured me that the US doesn't have exclusive claim to all the political idiots out there. I often think the US media and their followers over react to sex related stories. For me, corruption, starting wars, and complete self-interest are much bigger problems than who a politician is shagging (do Aussies use that slang word?).

    3. Yes Bill that term is used here. Strangely I thought it would not be used there. wish we could just focus on the politics but humans just love the gossip, strange breed that we are.

  12. Oh my goodness, what a cutie! And I laughed so hard with the fairy outfit. Perfect if she is going to dig up plants, that she looks like a garden fairy :) We are considering getting a puppy for Gregory. Think it's a good idea based on your experience?

    1. Yes Aleta, I do. A boy and his dog, nothing cuter. Besides you are well used to babies and toddlers now. It will be much easier for you then me. I am too old!

    1. I agree, it needs serious thought. As cute as they are they are a lot of work and it depends who is able to care for them too.
