What the Hell?

I realise we are living in the age of entitlement where indulgent behaviour is enabled and tolerated but I didn't realise it extended to our four legged friends too.

The following is a picture that someone recently took on a trip to China.

Tell me, what is going on with that dog?

Maybe this pooch is the Suri Cruise of the dog world and has to be carried around everywhere to avoid the paparazzi on their bikes.

What do you think?

The reader with the 'best' answer gets my leftover Easter chocolate. I take every word back that I said on my previous post. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing...sometimes. Alright then, you are sick of chocolate too? I will think of something else suitably Australian to give away. Fosters beer, a Kangaroo, Hugh Jackman, you get the idea..

  1. I have long heard about chinese food and dogs that is all I am saying. Maybe the owner doesn't trust that the dog would not be dognapped and end up in a stir fry later in the day. I thought I would be the one to say that and get that thought out of the way.

  5. Lilly you need more online looking at trends time.

Of course it's the latest Chinese exercise - carry your dog to KFC for skinless chicken.

My prize? The treasure map of where you buried your gold. Actually a few visits and your great comments on my blog will do.
    cheers!

  6. it's evident that the Boy Scout needs new glasses because that is NOT a little old lady he is helping cross the road...however in his vision defence...it could just be a hot blond!

  8. I got a simple answer: He just wants to know how to give a piggy back ride for his kids. He's practicing with his dog to see how that feels so when his kids are born, he'll have the technique down.

    Or

He's a lunatic thinking that he's giving his "kid" a piggy back ride when in fact it is his dog.

  11. My thoughts ~ the dog is a wannabe cat. My cat, Tigger, loves to be held, because he believes he is the Master and Masters do not walk at the feet of others. (See Greg's recent post on my blog for verification of that.) This dog is starting a revolution!

  13. Pooch to owner: Hey stoopid! Just coz it's called a zebra crossing, doesn't mean dogs not allowed to walk.

  14. The piggyback image brought to mind what happens in isolated rural areas in India during our national elections. While city slickers are apathetic, old women in rural areas , possibly in their late 80's and 90's , insist on voting, and are often carried piggyback like this by their children/grandchildren across difficult terrain, to the local voting centre.

Maybe this is an old pet favorite dog, being carried to a voting centre to vote in the Annual selections for Best Friend of the Year ..

  15. Speaking of Friends Ugich I did just read that China kills dogs for consumption and the Government approves of their farming. Maybe this dog owner is in denial he has a dog and is treating it like a child or his grandmother. Good on those women for voting. I like it!

  18. Perhaps the dog has a sore leg/paw and was on its way to the vet? Bit of a stretch?????

  19. I have no explanation for this other than I believe it must be owned by the woman I see on the walking trail in my neighborhood who takes her dog for a walk in a stroller. No kidding. Is it a diva dog who refuses to muddy its paws? Are its legs broken? I mean, what is up with that? I walk by always wondering what the protocol is here. Do I just walk by and act like this is normal? Do I rip the coverlet off of the dog and expose its ruse? What do you advise?

  20. @ M - Oh my, that is so funny. Diva dog - probably has manicured paws it can't get dirty. I would strike up a conversation though and get to the bottom of it. Sometimes things are not what they seem. And its true this dog probably has been known to travel to China first class as well..

  25. I couldn't see what was happening in that picture..But judging from the comments, someone is carrying their dog in a Backpack???
My eyesight is really getting terrible.
I think it is the only way in China to protect your dog from becoming part of someone's dinner....! (lol)

  26. I was kind of thinking he might be a visiting dignitary (like the President of PETA) that was being escorted around the city in the ultimate eco-friendly fashion. Then again, maybe I ought to stop thinking and go take a nap :o)

  27. It's his dinner. He believes in fresh food, and as much as we find it offensive, the consumption of dog meat is legal there. *gag*

I wish I could think of something humorous to say -- I would really love that chocolate. Chocolate is legal in Canada.

  28. I think that is some bourjois kind of dog who is taking the new form of doggy transport to get round town.
