This is not the Internet

My friend Sarah (who I am trying to encourage to blog because she is hilarious) is five feet three inches (160cm) tall and and, in her words, "pleasingly plump".

She had a minor accident yesterday while rock climbing (mmm, like we all do that for kicks) and her husband took her to the emergency room.

The nurse asked for her height and weight, and she blurted out, "Five-foot-eight (172cm) and 120 pounds (54k)."

"Sweetheart," her husband said, "this isn't the Internet."Made me laugh. Next time try a cocktail for excitement Sarah and maybe a blog because it's true, we are all beautiful creatures in the blogsphere...with delicious spirits.

The picture (click to enlarge) is of Coolum at the Sunshine Coast where I was over Easter. There were a few rocks...which I didn't climb...but the view was incredible. I will get the rest of the photos together soon.

And, if you are in need of some laughs......it really is the best medicine... check out Frenchman Remi Gaillard. He lost his job in a shoe store and started making these dangerously funny videos instead. You know, the ones where you say, how in the hell could they do that while at the same time laughing out loud.

  1. I just wanted to get in first and let you know Lilly that I am really 5' 8" and 120lbs. I was kidding you when I said I was short and fat. This is the Internet remember!

Truth is we are all stunted in the UK just because we don't get any sunshine or have beaches like you do. We do rocks really well though and as for royalty no-one does it better.

The Frenchman is kind of cute, oui? Dangerous is exactly right.

  2. I happen to be extraordinarilly tall and skinny too. People often get me confused with super models. It's such a pain.

  3. lol...well I always admit I'm fluffy...I just cant say the "fat" word.

That view is incredible, I'm very ready for some incredible views and a vacation.

In may we take our annual drive Las Veags, which is about 22 hours of driving for us. i love it and cant wait.

  4. @ Sarah he he, I know you are, I really do.

@ for Myself - you mean the rumors that you are really Cindy Crawford aren't true? I always thought you looked way better than her as it happens...

  5. @ Calming Scents - now there is a great word that covers a multitude of sins. Fluffy. You know I have never been to Vegas but would like to experience it at least...once.

  6. OMG I am of course another Sarah and I'm also (for real) 5'3" and pleasingly plump.

Well it does say 5'3" ON my passport ..I lied.

I'm only 5'2" but three sounded SO much taller.

  7. @ Sarah, but do you rock climb? Good things come in small packages remember.

  11. Hi Lilly, Lovely post as usual which I WAS missing. Thanks for being who you are even though it IS the internet. How many more are there like you on the internet..?

I love the joke Sarah's husband cracked..."sweatheart, this is'nt the internet.." Some men DO have original sense of humour.

Thanks for the funny video lead. will check it out. The picture is just beautiful. It has so much depth, and I can imagine that a ride on the road (appearing in the corner) must be a treat to drive.
    Ciao.
BTW, I am the Indian version of Cindy, and go by the name Aishwarya Rai....! 5'10", almost feather weight, green eyes, and a smile to die for. Need no intro - see me on Loreal, Loius Vitton, and Clinique ads. Not to mention at Madam Tussaud's for my London friends.

  14. Great post - and I'm still thinking about the one beforehand.

Must look up Riot Act - to see if they mentioned the bomb scare that was a fizzle at the airport.

  15. Hmmm....her husband sounds like mine when I tell my doctor that I exercise everyday.

That video is really crazy! Wow! It is dangerously funny.

  17. 'Kangourou' has me with tears in my eyes Lilly. He's hopping mad.
I think I liked the bit where he's in a lift with an inbuilt boxing ring best!
It's amazing he's still alive to tell the tale.
I wonder how he got out of the fight with the security guys?

  18. I reckon your should try to encourage Sarah's HUSBAND to blog - it sounds like he has YOUR sort of sense of humour :)

  19. HA-HA-HA, no matter what she says, I'd have to see her in person to verify the facts :)

  20. "Sweetheart," her husband said, "this isn't the Internet." ---- HILARIOUS! Oh, Lilly... you do know how to give us a good giggle :) ps I wonder how the nurse responded - seeing that what she was hearing did not match what was presented in front of her (lol)?

  21. hi Lilly, second time here. Thanks for visiting 'inner feelings', and leaving a thoughful comment. Have been down a bit, but trying to take things in my stride. The Book review went off well. A second book for review should soon be on it's way, I think. Am really looking frwrd to it, it's fun.

Have just posted a new post, and would love you to visit. Thanks.

  24. Dear Lilly, that darned old internet thing ~ can't hide much from it really. Sooner or later your real self emerges, whether in photo form or word form.

I am so glad you enjoy my music. Must admit when Hoobastank does Reason, I crank the sound as loud as I can ... same with I'll Stand By You. Not sure what that reveals about me !!!!!

  25. Those pesky kangaroos - you've gotta watch them!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Lilly,
So good to see you blogging again. The photo makes me want to be there on the spot. I love ocean shores and beaches.

I really am short and pleasingly plump. Hee, hee. Sarah's husband's comment is funny.

I'm off to check out the video.

  27. From now on I am going to be 5 foot 8 and 120 lbs also. If you say it, it must be true--right?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Don't you just love the internet. You can be anyone or anything for that matter. I've not revealed anything about my physical identity. I like having that bit of anonymity.

Kangaroos - yes, they're everywhere here in Aus. Elevators, supermarkets, you name it - generally around 3 years old and accompanied by a parent.

  29. I knew this photo had to be Coolum, I have a photo taken from probably the same place this one was. A few years back we owned land within walking distance from this gorgeous headland. Lilly, I have always found the beach a great place of reconciliation for one's soul.

  30. Hey Lilly, I just told my husband how amazing it is that he knew there were so many 5'8", 120lb women on the internet. They clearly all read your blog. Of course, now I want to know how he knew that...and someone wants evidence of my form? Well Lilly I will have to send you a pic to put up just to prove that I am not really short and fat..

    ReplyDelete
  31. ok - that was freakin hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just give me a bit to work out how photoshop works..

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yes, I have certainly read enough lies on the internet, & then they lie about the lies, because they forgot what they told you. The truth is much easier to remember.
    But her husband was hysterical.
I think he should start a blog.

  36. lilly thanks for visiting "a few clowns short".

So is that beach in the picture a good one for swimming? I don't notice anyone swimming.

Do you have any mermaid shots of yourself on the beach?

Well, you've sen my pics on my blog before. I happen to take a good photo if I say so myself, so I'd rather tell everyone I am short, fat, bald and ugly adn then if they STILL like me, they can be pleasantly surprised and "rewarded" for such loyalty anyway! LOL.

  58. That picture is really pretty, our shore line around Lake Michigan is just sand, but we do have some big sand dunes to climb, if you slip you just slide down. I hope Sarah didn't break anything. Welcome back and have a nice week.

  64. LOL, woohoo, soooooo good to have our Lilly back. What a fabulous post, it's always a joy to laugh along with you, Lilly. I'm not short, stocky, fluffy (or any of those things) but, for the life of me, I sure wish I was; maybe then people wouldn't keep assuming I must be anorexic, lol. If anyone has a few pounds they'd like to shed, feel free to send some my way, I will "gladly" take whatever I can get, ha ha. Oh, and can't wait to check out those videos, they sound grrreat.

    Glad to have you back!

Blogs are absolutely the right place for using a little artistic license....perhaps not Emergency Rooms.

People never believe me when I tell them I can't remember how old I am. I seriously have to count!!

btw...I popped over from Sandi's blog, and I'll definitely be back.
