My friend Sarah (who I am trying to encourage to blog because she is hilarious) is five feet three inches (160cm) tall and and, in her words, "pleasingly plump".
She had a minor accident yesterday while rock climbing (mmm, like we all do that for kicks) and her husband took her to the emergency room.
The nurse asked for her height and weight, and she blurted out, "Five-foot-eight (172cm) and 120 pounds (54k)."
"Sweetheart," her husband said, "this isn't the Internet."Made me laugh. Next time try a cocktail for excitement Sarah and maybe a blog because it's true, we are all beautiful creatures in the blogsphere...with delicious spirits.
The picture (click to enlarge) is of Coolum at the Sunshine Coast where I was over Easter. There were a few rocks...which I didn't climb...but the view was incredible. I will get the rest of the photos together soon.
And, if you are in need of some laughs......it really is the best medicine... check out Frenchman Remi Gaillard. He lost his job in a shoe store and started making these dangerously funny videos instead. You know, the ones where you say, how in the hell could they do that while at the same time laughing out loud.
I just wanted to get in first and let you know Lilly that I am really 5' 8" and 120lbs. I was kidding you when I said I was short and fat. This is the Internet remember!
ReplyDeleteTruth is we are all stunted in the UK just because we don't get any sunshine or have beaches like you do. We do rocks really well though and as for royalty no-one does it better.
The Frenchman is kind of cute, oui? Dangerous is exactly right.
I happen to be extraordinarilly tall and skinny too. People often get me confused with super models. It's such a pain.
ReplyDeletelol...well I always admit I'm fluffy...I just cant say the "fat" word.
ReplyDeleteThat view is incredible, I'm very ready for some incredible views and a vacation.
In may we take our annual drive Las Veags, which is about 22 hours of driving for us. i love it and cant wait.
@ Sarah he he, I know you are, I really do.
ReplyDelete@ for Myself - you mean the rumors that you are really Cindy Crawford aren't true? I always thought you looked way better than her as it happens...
@ Calming Scents - now there is a great word that covers a multitude of sins. Fluffy. You know I have never been to Vegas but would like to experience it at least...once.
ReplyDeleteOMG I am of course another Sarah and I'm also (for real) 5'3" and pleasingly plump.
ReplyDeleteWell it does say 5'3" ON my passport ..I lied.
I'm only 5'2" but three sounded SO much taller.
@ Sarah, but do you rock climb? Good things come in small packages remember.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Lilly :) She's back! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture and funny story. Thanks for the heads-up on the funny videos. I'm definitely checking them out!
Have a Fabulous Weekend!
Absolutely beautiful picture! What a view, I could sit there for hours.
ReplyDeleteI hope your friend is okay...sounds like sumpin' I would do ;-o except she has a height advantage ;-)
Great to see the Lovely Lilly on my dashboard again!
Okay...Kangourou was hilarious. I needed that laugh.
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly, Lovely post as usual which I WAS missing. Thanks for being who you are even though it IS the internet. How many more are there like you on the internet..?
ReplyDeleteI love the joke Sarah's husband cracked..."sweatheart, this is'nt the internet.." Some men DO have original sense of humour.
Thanks for the funny video lead. will check it out. The picture is just beautiful. It has so much depth, and I can imagine that a ride on the road (appearing in the corner) must be a treat to drive.
Ciao.
BTW, I am the Indian version of Cindy, and go by the name Aishwarya Rai....! 5'10", almost feather weight, green eyes, and a smile to die for. Need no intro - see me on Loreal, Loius Vitton, and Clinique ads. Not to mention at Madam Tussaud's for my London friends.
if i had known how many people were going to read my blog i would have posted a picture of me at 30 and let everyone think i still look like that..well, i do except there is more of me....lots more of me
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! Love that quote.
ReplyDeleteI've already seen that weird but funny Frenchman!
Great post - and I'm still thinking about the one beforehand.
ReplyDeleteMust look up Riot Act - to see if they mentioned the bomb scare that was a fizzle at the airport.
Hmmm....her husband sounds like mine when I tell my doctor that I exercise everyday.
ReplyDeleteThat video is really crazy! Wow! It is dangerously funny.
I want to jump right into that picture and take a swim.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope Sarah blogs.
'Kangourou' has me with tears in my eyes Lilly. He's hopping mad.
ReplyDeleteI think I liked the bit where he's in a lift with an inbuilt boxing ring best!
It's amazing he's still alive to tell the tale.
I wonder how he got out of the fight with the security guys?
I reckon your should try to encourage Sarah's HUSBAND to blog - it sounds like he has YOUR sort of sense of humour :)
ReplyDeleteHA-HA-HA, no matter what she says, I'd have to see her in person to verify the facts :)
ReplyDelete"Sweetheart," her husband said, "this isn't the Internet." ---- HILARIOUS! Oh, Lilly... you do know how to give us a good giggle :) ps I wonder how the nurse responded - seeing that what she was hearing did not match what was presented in front of her (lol)?
ReplyDeletehi Lilly, second time here. Thanks for visiting 'inner feelings', and leaving a thoughful comment. Have been down a bit, but trying to take things in my stride. The Book review went off well. A second book for review should soon be on it's way, I think. Am really looking frwrd to it, it's fun.
ReplyDeleteHave just posted a new post, and would love you to visit. Thanks.
Golfers have no sense of humor....
ReplyDeletelovely photo, looking forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteDear Lilly, that darned old internet thing ~ can't hide much from it really. Sooner or later your real self emerges, whether in photo form or word form.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you enjoy my music. Must admit when Hoobastank does Reason, I crank the sound as loud as I can ... same with I'll Stand By You. Not sure what that reveals about me !!!!!
Those pesky kangaroos - you've gotta watch them!
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly,
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you blogging again. The photo makes me want to be there on the spot. I love ocean shores and beaches.
I really am short and pleasingly plump. Hee, hee. Sarah's husband's comment is funny.
I'm off to check out the video.
Tasha
From now on I am going to be 5 foot 8 and 120 lbs also. If you say it, it must be true--right?!?!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the internet. You can be anyone or anything for that matter. I've not revealed anything about my physical identity. I like having that bit of anonymity.
ReplyDeleteKangaroos - yes, they're everywhere here in Aus. Elevators, supermarkets, you name it - generally around 3 years old and accompanied by a parent.
I knew this photo had to be Coolum, I have a photo taken from probably the same place this one was. A few years back we owned land within walking distance from this gorgeous headland. Lilly, I have always found the beach a great place of reconciliation for one's soul.
ReplyDeleteHey Lilly, I just told my husband how amazing it is that he knew there were so many 5'8", 120lb women on the internet. They clearly all read your blog. Of course, now I want to know how he knew that...and someone wants evidence of my form? Well Lilly I will have to send you a pic to put up just to prove that I am not really short and fat..
ReplyDeleteok - that was freakin hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust give me a bit to work out how photoshop works..
ReplyDeleteYes, I have certainly read enough lies on the internet, & then they lie about the lies, because they forgot what they told you. The truth is much easier to remember.
ReplyDeleteBut her husband was hysterical.
I think he should start a blog.
~Mary
a lil something my way if you would like it :-)
ReplyDeleteCrikey - I don't have an artistic bone in my body - lol.
ReplyDeleteYou should see me draw stick figures and threes for birds. :)
But I am still learning to do digital scrapbooking.
Hehe hilarious!
ReplyDeletelilly thanks for visiting "a few clowns short".
ReplyDeleteSo is that beach in the picture a good one for swimming? I don't notice anyone swimming.
Do you have any mermaid shots of yourself on the beach?
Oh, that is hilarious!!! he'd better be careful. He may just find he's the one having the next rock climbing accident!! lol
ReplyDelete:) yeah, good joke that one heheheh. this photo is an amazing getaway, i don't think ive every been to anywhere as breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture...
ReplyDeleteI adore beaches. Little slices of heaven.
Love the internet comment.
On the internet... I am 5'10 and 125 with thick black curly hair and icy green eyes.
Go ahead and shoot me. I tagged you with a meme on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSarah is as funny as her husband so they should do a joint blog. That view in that picture is a good one, and it looks kind of restful. Is that a blue sky as I havent seen one of those for a long time.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that was quite a light-hearted story. Made my day. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for your kind comments.
I can't really reveal who I am, so that's why I blog!
ReplyDelete:)

ReplyDeleteNow that is the Lilly we know! Funny with a bit of beauty mixed in :) I'm off to see the video now too. Hope you feel as well as you sound and this isn't just, you know, the internet version of how you are :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous place that. What a lovely palce to be for Easter.
ReplyDeleteWell, you've sen my pics on my blog before. I happen to take a good photo if I say so myself, so I'd rather tell everyone I am short, fat, bald and ugly adn then if they STILL like me, they can be pleasantly surprised and "rewarded" for such loyalty anyway! LOL.
I'm goign to go check that link now, btw. Looks fun.
Your friend Sarah sounds like me! I love the way she described herself. Your photo is beautiful. Loved this story.
ReplyDeleteyour friend's husband is just hilarious! Hope he got bashed on the head for that later!!
ReplyDeleteI am GAWJUS on the internet. In the mirror? Not so much.
ReplyDeleteGreat story, amazing picture!
That's the fabulous thing about the Web. No one can see your cellulite or panty lines!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Oh to be tall . . .
ReplyDeleteAh well, the rose-tinted Internet will allow me to be Posh Spice (or do I want to be Halle Berry?)...you've got me started on a nice day-dream...
ReplyDeleteSo, so hilarious! You made me laugh - again. :)
ReplyDeleteLiily;
ReplyDeletejust got back from visiting my Mom in Ohio, saw your soothing , calming shore and I want to go there NOW!
I also went over aand had a laugh with the bunny man!
LOL
Ha! That is hilarious! :) I never even thought to lie about my height instead of my weight..... Hmmmm, if I was 6foot2" I would be SO skinny!!
ReplyDeleteOn the internet I'm always 28 (again). We're all so young and beautiful, aren't we?
ReplyDeletePopping by from SITS!
Lets hope she picks up the charge to blog and share her wit!
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly
ReplyDeleteJust back from Galway West of Ireland. Love the pics of the sunshine coast, looks really beautiful.
That picture is really pretty, our shore line around Lake Michigan is just sand, but we do have some big sand dunes to climb, if you slip you just slide down. I hope Sarah didn't break anything. Welcome back and have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beauty and the laughter in the post and in the video. Laughter helps and heals. Good to have you back.
ReplyDeletehi lilly, just dropping by... i hope you're enjoying the beautiful sunshine where you're at =)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Very funny, as are everyone's comments:) If this virtual reality thing ever truly pans out, we'll be perfectly beautiful...How scary is that:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pic, it's nice to be out in "the real world" from time to time.

ReplyDeletethis comment (of course you'll just need to trust me) is coming from the sky over hmm I think Minnesota
flying internet - its great
they even had a good cookie with my coffee up here
more elbow room would be nice though.
so the "this in not the internet" is changing all the time
The Sunshine Coast is well named. "This isn't the Internet" is really funny.
ReplyDeleteNaturally I am a Clint Eastwood lookalike in real life.
love
henry
LOL, woohoo, soooooo good to have our Lilly back. What a fabulous post, it's always a joy to laugh along with you, Lilly. I'm not short, stocky, fluffy (or any of those things) but, for the life of me, I sure wish I was; maybe then people wouldn't keep assuming I must be anorexic, lol. If anyone has a few pounds they'd like to shed, feel free to send some my way, I will "gladly" take whatever I can get, ha ha. Oh, and can't wait to check out those videos, they sound grrreat.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back!
@ Misstfied - oh ok if I really have to.... I am sending some pounds your way....well lot sof pounds actually just because I am th egenerous sort. Thanks for your comments - much appreciated. I will post again today maybe. Things have been busy!
ReplyDelete@ Henry, you are gorgeous as Henry. Clint is a little rough around the edges for my liking.
ReplyDelete@ Lisleman - flying internet - space ship perhaps?????
ReplyDeleteHahaha - hilarious.
ReplyDeleteBlogs are absolutely the right place for using a little artistic license....perhaps not Emergency Rooms.
People never believe me when I tell them I can't remember how old I am. I seriously have to count!!
btw...I popped over from Sandi's blog, and I'll definitely be back.
Lovely little area of the blogosphere you have here ;o)
x
@ Kimberley, welcome and please come back. I will pop over and visit you too!
ReplyDeletelilly no not a spaceship - I wish
ReplyDeleteIt's something the typical passenger will have the opportunity to do on more of their flights in the future. Inflight internet service was on the Alaska Air plane I was flying from Chicago to Seattle.
Lisleman - Wow, I have never used inflight internet service - that's amazing.
ReplyDeleteCLASSIC....I love that line. And maybe that's the reason I love blogland so much. I too can be a beautiful super model hehehe
ReplyDelete
