you're not the person I thought you were.
To make up for the horrid spider picture, I thought I would post something more savory. In this installment of CBS News Assignment America, Steve Hartman visits an animal sanctuary where a dog and an elephant have formed a very lasting, and unusual, friendship.
For those who haven't seen the Christian the Lion Cub video, click here. Be prepared to shed a tear.
Have you ever heard of or seen any unusual animal friendships such as this?
PS: Another Australian blog I can recommend is Middle Aged Ramblings. Peggy, from Sydney, is an inspirational and gifted writer and she has some wonderful scrap blogs and a great music selection on her blog.
Tara and Bella are the cutest couple ! That is incredibly sweet to see, Lilly ! Thank you for that video brightening up my morning :)
ReplyDeleteLoving Annie
Annie - it was a great story wasnt it - they are taeaching us a lesson!
ReplyDeleteThat dog is soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAAAh
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
This IS an amazing video. God...why can't us people get things right?! If a dog and elephant can bond, what is our problem, yes? Thank you for sharing, Lilly.
ReplyDeleteI dont have volumn right now so i couldnt hear the story but i seeing it was enough. the little paw touching the big paw...the hugs, you can feel the caring. i always have felt animals were amazing and were given to us by God to teach. They feel such deep voids in us and give us so much unconditional love dont they?
ReplyDeleteGreat heart warming video Lilly. Thankyou for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely video, Lilly, I'm echoing Paris' thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat lion video kills me. I can't watch this one as I have no sound...will check it out tomorrow at work!
ReplyDeleteLilly, I saw this video last week and just loved it!! It contains two of my favorite animals in one video, and as best friends, yet!! How could you not love it?
ReplyDeleteI have a funny animal story that happened to me yesterday. I'll try to get it posted on my site later today. Have a great week!
Ahhh, bless :)
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Thank you for sharing this story.
ReplyDeleteI am crying my eyes out! I loved this story! ThanK you thank you thank you for sharing it! That was a perfect way to start my day!
ReplyDeleteThat was a real tear jerker. It does send a message that I think the world (including me) should pay attention to.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Terrie
How precious is this ???!!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! THAT was awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnimals can teach us all things about love and not seeing differences in others, it happens all the time. Which leads me to ask, what is it about love, kindness, acceptance, sharing, that we humans seem to have so much difficulty in doing?? This is just one more beautiful example.
ReplyDeleteI love this! You are so right--they are teaching us a lesson.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this one some where else. It's a cool video, and speaks volumes to the nature of animals.
ReplyDeleteI did Ahhh! Very cute and surprising!
ReplyDeleteInspiring!
i've seen it and it is so sweet..but i really like the one of the guys who raised a lion cub and after he was grown they released him back into the african wild...later they found him and he ran up to them and licked them and hugged them ..he was just so happy and introuduced them to his wife and cubs...broke my heart..if you haven't seen it.it's on my blog about 3-4 weeks ago...
ReplyDeleteThat is sooooooo sweet! I wish people acted more like animals sometime...loving unconditionally and paying no attention to their differences? Great video. I watched one yesterday of a cat playing with 2 mice...so cute! If I can find it again, I will send it to you.
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog,
from (another) Lilly
This is great! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh that was sooooo sweet! Of course the dog is special...she's named BELLA!!!! *wink*
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this!
Oh Lilly
ReplyDeleteI did my ahhhh out loud! What an amazing friendship, animals can sure teach us things!
I can't wait to show my boys this video... quite frankly the sweetest animal video I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI am such a dog lover anyway... and now I think I adore Elephants too!
If the entire world would just take heed from those tow animals... we would be living in such a different world right now.
Thank you for posting that!
Sorry I'm so late in posting my comments...work has taken me on a few travels as of late...but now that I am able, I certainly wanted to "visit".
ReplyDeleteOur cottage, The Painted Nest is not abundant in PINK (gasp, I know, LOL) nonetheless the fun continues, as I participated in this past Sat. Pink Posting... :)
Happy to be here this evening to yes..
AWWWWWWW :)
It simply is a miracle on display!
Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm forwarding this to all my animal fanatic friends (which is most of them).
ReplyDeleteI sat. I saw. I sniffled. Poor Tara will certainly outlive Bella, and the thought of it had me crying. I wish they could add another young dog to the mix so that poor Tara will not be left alone.
ReplyDeleteLove this. how adorable. i love how the elephant pets the dogs tummy!
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet. Imagine the trust between them when you see that big elephants foot on the tiny dog. Oh my thats the kind of relationship I wish I had with another human. Complete trust. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAwwww - I'm a sucker for animal friend stories.
ReplyDeleteAnd I clicked back because I missed the spider. Bad move. I'm up for at least another hour trying to get that image out of my brain.
Darn it, the second video was removed.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet was that first one.
Thanks for your comments everyone. I fixed that link up - seems the original video I linked to has been taken off You Tube.
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show that everyone needs friends. Thanks for sharing - and I did "awww" all the way through. I didn't much care for the spider though - Me and spiders do not get along very well.
ReplyDeleteGreat video isnt it - I have a dog and a cat that are inseparable but an elephant and a dog are incredible.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, it reminds me of the elephants painting - incredible.
ReplyDeleteI thought your comment on Remembering Paris's blog on sadness, depression and feeling lost was bang on.
ReplyDeleteLast year I had to say goodbye to my best friend and comfort a 13 year old golden retriever Jake who was the love of my life. I really felt that I would die from sadness ... but I didn't. It did however change me enormously ... I grew tremendously from that deep dark place in really very positive ways.
Two books that really helped me -
Elizabeth Lesser's
Broken Open: How Difficult
Times Can Help Us Grow
James Gordon MD
Unstuck: Your Guide to the Seven-Stage Journey Out of Depression
Beautiful video and funny I posted about a teeny tiny spider yesterday.
cheers from the other side of the world, Susan
@ Susan - thanks I think its an issue many people face in theri lives. Its important people do not feel they are alone. Good books too!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Lilly...wishing you a wonderful Monday. Thank you for all of your love, encouragement and support. I really, really appreciate it. *hugs*

ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit and your kind words!!

Shelia ;)
I had seen this but I watched it again as it is just the most awesome thing to witness. We sure could learn a thing or two from this couple! Thanks for putting it on your blog. I enjoyed it all over again.

It's just so amazing to see Tara rubbing Bella's tummy! AMAZING!
Awww! How great for Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhata great story, Lilly! I've also seen that Lion story before... amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! So much nicer. This takes the image of that hairy eight legged guy out of my mind. It's so sweet!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is an amazing story. I didn't even know about this sanctuary until now. The power of blogging really offers me varied subjects to discover.
ReplyDeleteI still remember reading and crying about the Lion Cub Video. I'm so grateful that you're sharing these heart-warming videos with us.
Tasha
Saw this on Sandi's blog and linked to you on mine... loved it! So glad to have found another great blog. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly, I cane to your blog via The Daily Blonde... and I love it. And my God when I came across this particular story of the Elephant and the Dog... wow. Simply incredible and uplifting at the same time. One other thing, I noticed you have something in your About Me section re: life being too short and laughing, etc. This is an excerpt of what I have, verbatim, on my blog: "Life's too short. Let's laugh while we can." Have a great day, Lilly! Your new follower from the States, Steve O
ReplyDeleteAwwww....
ReplyDeleteso heartwarming!
Lilly this brought tears to my eyes. We human animals have SO MUCH to learn from other species. This brought tears to my eyes when the elephant stood for days waiting outside to be near the dog. I have found so many other species have this deep enduring patience...even when they are in horrendous pain or grief. I just get so shocked when science or people believe...or even have research and "study" to prove that other species have FEELINGS. Well, HELLO!!! Make me ask which species is the more intelligent. I loved this story. So so beautiful and life giving. And I love you for posting it. One of the best animal stories I've seen in a long time. You are such a complex and beautiful soul....and yet like me I think you are very simple and see right to the heart of things. Thank you for that. Love, Robin
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I posted the same, borrowed it from Sandi :-)
