You just have to laugh...

For those of you who have not visited Hugh Atkin's blog, The Margins of Error, do stop by because you can't help but ......laugh out loud.

Here is Hugh's latest effort called, John McCain Gets Barackroll'd. I think you can laugh at this despite your political persuasions.

While you are here, do you have a blog or website that you regularly visit and you can recommend to others, whether it be serious, funny or anything in between?

  1. What a hoot - the looks on the faces. That will teach them for having a blank green screen behind him. Least I do not find this offensive, just funny. There is too much nasty stuff out ther.

  3. Good Morning, Lilly,
Enjoyed my first visit to Atkin's blog and watching some of his funny videos, thanks to your tip. My favorite was the 3 am White House phone call video, as Marge in Fargo is one of my favorite movie characters.
Loved the Sunday photo as well and the quote by Therese - she is my patron saint and her autobiography is a must read. Written at the age of 22 or so, in the last year of her life. Inspiring - her love affair with Jesus.
Ha' a good day, mate (you like my attempt at Australian talk?!)
    Love,
    Jlo

  4. LOL. You know I must be the only person in the world who doesn't know and who doesn't care what is going in the race to become the President of America.
What does that say about me ? Hmmmm,
I don't really know the answer to that. Maybe it's because I come from a country with such a turbulent past, that I'm happy to sit back and the rest of the world trouble themselves about this. Maybe it's because I don't have much faith in politicians - their promises which they seldom keep, the fact that they are willing to back down on something that they were so adamant about in order to gain a few extra votes. It all seems to me to be a perfect breeding ground for democratically elected conmen. Anyway, enjoyed the video despite never having been a Rick Astley fan.

  5. @ Sarah - it is indeed a hoot and I too like 'dooce'.

@ Jlo - oh yes the 3am wakeup call is a good one too. Therese is your patron saint - well there you go - my confirmation name is Therese after her. I must have read something about her when I was 10 or so but I will check out her autobiography. Thank you for that tip. Thanks for stopping by.

@ Jon - if I was you I would let politics slide too. I love it on the other hand but I have not had to live through the unrest you must have had to. I will never forget working in London many, many years ago and being told we were not allowed to accept Irish money. I didn't get it at all. But then my brother went to Belfast and had some stories to tell. Jon I think a lot of people would be surprised to hear some of your stories.

  6. Lilly - I couldn't get the video to work even after several attempts. Anyone else have this problem? I'll check again later to see if it will work.

  8. Hi Lilly ~ Great! What gets me is the fact that people use less judgement when it comes to choosing a President (or a Prime Minister) than they do when it comes to choosing their personal financial advisor....can you imagine a husband (or wife) returning home and saying to their better half, that they had invested their life savings with ...
because he or she had nice teeth, or good hair, or had a perfect family life.

Most politicians deserve all the ribbing they get...but that doesn't stop the general public being absolute gullable loonys, when it comes to their criteria for voting.
(he sat down and rapidly drank a glass of water) EE Cummings.

    love

  9. Oh Henry - that must be where I made the mistake with my ex!!! Yes we are superficial creatures at best and thats the way these politicians like to keep it - smoke and mirror stuff. Then again I think its the way society works in general. Did you know, for example, that good looking criminals are more inclined to be believed by jurors and therefore get off? Yes we are gullible and its a nasty lesson to learn. As for e e cummings - my favourite -
I thank You God for most this amazing day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes!

  15. Lilly - I finally got the video to play. How funny was that!! Someone had to do a tone of research, going through who knows how many videos of Obama to get this piece done. Hey, funny is funny, as long as no one gets hurt or called something way our of line. This was darn funny.
