I just had to share this with you.
No it's not about a researcher called Tal Yarkoni from Washington University in St Louis who contacted me about research he was doing on personality and blogging. Do you think I should have been offended that he contacted me on the day I told the world I swore at a police officer? There seemed to be a lot of questions about anger, poor impulse control and paranoia. Is this guy related to any of you? Just asking...
Anyway, I digress.
I'm excited .......for another blogger.
I was just looking at the list of winners of the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards and at the very end of the list was an award called User generated video - Barack Roll.
This video was done by a 24 yr old Aussie blogger, video producer and lawyer called Hugh Atkin (his blog has not been updated since the end of November so he's obviously very busy). This is a fantastic effort.
I posted a few of his videos on my blog last August and I am reposting these again so you can see them. You will notice in the comment section that Hugh made a comment (in August) which said, "it's always a very nervous thing uploading a video (to You Tube) and not knowing how people will react".
Well Hugh, it seems 'the people' may have reacted pretty positively given the five and a half million hits you've had and given you've just won a People's Choice Award. What an understatement!
The winning video is the first of the three featured.
Whether you like these types of viral videos or not, it does show what can happen when someone's 'work' gets discovered on the net and how quickly it can spread. How exciting is that!
So go forth bloggers and do great things.

Thanks for sharing and for the laughs. They're indeed very funny. Ahhh...They look so real. Some people just have way too much talent and time on their hands to be creative.
I think this guy is really good too - the monty python/batman one just cracked me up. Very creative indeed. Hey Tasha, did all that blood and gore give you any ideas for David's story???? Wouldnt it be hilarious if we had a funny story like that!
I sort of have an idea. I just need to do some research and some writing.
Humour would be a great addition to one of his past lives.

@ Redchair - I laughed out loud at them (which we dont get to do much anymore it seems) and thought I had to share. Obama has the sweetest expressions on his face. And the Black Knight - I so have to go and get some Monty Python videos out - the British do humour so well! Crazy stuff.

The thing I thought when I saw your Arthur/Batman video is that we need something done in a different genre to tell a story of David's past life. We need humor injected into this series and to move away from just the written word. Want to have a go??? A video of a past life for David..? Oh, I've not seen these either. The Batman/King Arthur one - too funny! Dark Knight indeed- always thought Batman was a borderline narcissist myself. Hugh is very clever!
Enjoyed those. Have you seen the Batman movie? Why does Batman have that voice - like a cross between Clint Eastwood and a heavy breather?

@ Stephan - I think they did Batmans voice like that to make it different from the Bruce Wayne or something - a disguise - oh who knows I did see an article about it somewhere though if you want to Google it.

haha, that is the first I have seen the Barack Roll video....it made me smile! I love the thought of having a president that doesn't look like a complete fool when he dances! :o)
Can you imagine any previous President being able to dance like that? How great is that. Loved the videos and I love how clever people are to splice up tapes like that to make something hilarious out of them. Best of all it wasnt insulting the man either. It's pure fun. I thought that final one was so well done. The expressions on Barack's face seemed perfect for Hugh's (I assume) questions. Barrack is cute too. Made me smile and well done to Hugh. So how is the no sugar, flour alcohol etc going?
I have seen these before...they are so funny! Thanks again for the laugh.

I've never seen the video Barack Roll. The guy is amazing. Can you imagine how much research went into finding the right words in all his different speeches and interviews? It boggles the brain!

That last video with the word association was hilarious, this is the first time I've seen it. Thank you! I've never attempted to put together a YouTube, I'm too much of a slacker to put that kind of time into anything. I'm glad that not all bloggers are slackers like me. ;-)
